One of the most interesting parts of the Cathedral of St.. Stanislaus in Vilnius is the Chapel of St. George. Kazimierz. It is built in the style of the early Baroque chapel, designed by Matteo Castelli, built between 1623-1636. Castelli started its construction, and after a year 1632 took it and finished Constantin Tencalla. The chapel is dedicated to St. Casimir (1458-1484), whose relics are deposited in the chapel.
Chapel Kazimierzowska supposedly modeled on the Wawel Sigismund Chapel, However, twice the original. It is built on a square plan, covered with a circular dome. Originally located in the chapel of the silver altar was plundered by the Russian army 1655. The altar is a painting depicting St. Casimir with three hands.
