Theatre Square in Bielsko-Biala

Polish Theatre building was built between 1889-1890 and designed by the Viennese architect Emil von Förster in an eclectic style with a predominance of neoclassical and neo-baroque, using the theme of the Roman triumphal arch on the facade decorated with statues of Apollo and furthermore muses: Melpomeny i Talii.
Theatre in shape, the assumption Förster, resembles the Vienna Opera and the National Theatre in Budapest. To this day, there is a curtain of 1890 r. presenting Dancing Nymphs, made in the studio of Francis Rottonary.
In the years 1904-1905 was rebuilt according to the project design office Fellner & Helmer in Vienna.
In April 2008 r. completed a major renovation of the facade of the theater, including maintenance of all sculptures, The Collector, as well as the replacement of roofing. The building also gained new, revolving stage, air conditioning and new lighting, and adapted to the basement cafeteria.
In front of the theater is a replica of a historic fountain 1895 r., a gift to the city by the builders Bielsko water supply.
