Giant, on the slope of Szrenica

Szrenica (1362 m) is located in the western part of the Giant. The dome-shaped peak is elevated above the main ridge of the Giant Mountains in height 60 m. On the east side it descends steeply towards the Cauldron Szrenickiego, while in the southern part gently “Out” on the ridge of Silesia. Szrenica is built with granite rocks and rubble rock, which covers in particular the eastern side slopes. The granite boulder fields covered with yellow-greenish lichens, which from a distance resemble hoarfrost, hence probably took the name “Szrenica”.
