The first mention of the village was still duke was concluded 1221[14], in “Book Henrykowska” (document of Henry I the Bearded). Since the end of the fourteenth century, was included in the assets of the castle Ksiaz[14]. The fate of the village have evolved along with the history of the castle. In 1392, after the death of Fr. Agnes, wife Bolek II, Szczawno passed into the hands of Czech King Wenceslas. In 1410 Janko bought them from Chociemic the hands of the brothers Conrad and Albrecht Salzbornów.
