Royal Castle in Sanok – zip reaching its history the Middle Ages, which is now the Museum of History.

The earliest reference to the city of Sanok comes from 1150 and was written in Russian Latopisie Hipackim [3]. Russian chronicler mentions in her about the expedition of King Géza II Rus during which occupied castles Sanok and Think. The present castle is situated on a hill 317 m n.p.m. on a steep slope on the east side at the foot of which flows the river of San, now stream Płowiecka. Conducted archaeological excavations confirmed the existence of early medieval fortified settlement on the north side of the castle hill.
