The name comes from the Kasprowy lying at the foot of the peak Hall Kasprowa, and this, in turn, according to folk tales from the name or nickname of the owner ? górala Kaspra. It is composed of crystalline rocks (granodiorites and pegmatites), despite its location in the younger part of the Tatras built of sedimentary rocks. It should be the so-called. crystalline islands Goryczkowa.
Steep slopes (almost wall) fall only to the Valley Kasprowa. They include several gullies, of which the best known is the Finger Couloir. With all the other parties peak Kasprowy is available without a problem.
Just below the top of the elongated Kasprowy, height 1959 m n.p.m. is a building, where the bar, restaurant, kiosk, waiting room waiting for the exit queue, Ski Storage, WC and Winter Tatra Voluntary Rescue Station. From the building to the Dry Pass leads paved stone walkway promenade with a length of about. 200 m.
