Market in Sanok - market square in the center of Sanok.
The square was laid out by the Austrian authorities after the reconstruction of the city in 1786. The original plan for building market was established in the second half. Fourteenth century when the city in 1339. Privilege issued by Prince George ordered m.in. elevation by the mayor of the town hall and trade stalls. This document confirmed the then King Casimir the Great in 1366. Late medieval market has been Sanok dimensions 20 in 20 bars (81 × 81 meters).
For several centuries served market economic and military purposes. Every Wednesday and Friday held at the fair and the annual fairs. Sanok surrounding tenements market created in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century. During this time they were in the inn and houses zajezdne, while their owners were mostly Jews.
At the beginning 1895 in the market has been well dug deeper (existing 28-meter was increased to 52 m – thus its bottom was situated below the level of the river San extending the Sanok castle.
