Zamosc, called the Pearl of the Renaissance, Padua of the North, City of Arcades, is the perfect city fortress, Founded in 1580 by Jan Zamoyski year, Chancellor of the Crown, designed by the Italian architect Bernardo Mornado, representing outstanding achievement of the late Renaissance European thought urban. The urban layout of the city center with a team of about. 120 monuments of architecture was included in the sights of the highest artistic and historical value in the world. Recognized as a historic monument was inscribed on the UNESCO w1992 the World Heritage List.
Zamosc – to miasto bohater, unchecked in 1947 the Cross of Grunwald III Class for outstanding contribution to the struggle for national and social liberation, for the fight against the Nazi occupiers.
Zamosc is a town of great historical traditions in many areas: na polu nauki, education and culture. Worked here famous writers and poets – S.Klonowicz, Sz.Szymonowicz, K.Koźmian, S.Młodożeniec, B.Leśmian. Zamosc was also a step in the pilgrimage of Pope John Paul II to the Motherland (12.06.1999 r.).
